Blueberry Inspiration...

Summer is definitely here! Yet, while in the midst of preparing for my exhibition arriving sooner than I anticipated, I have been spending many long days and late nights in the studio. The time around a computer has also been unpredictable...as I photograph and edit images so my work is out there for the rest of the world to see. Through this I have had many discussions and thoughts within the few months about photographing my work out side the traditional back drop...and with much disbelief I can express that I am very much enjoying photographing my pots! Personally, it's a joy for me seeing the pottery in its natural space-- on the tablecloth with tea steaming from its rim, holding a colorful bouquet, overflowing with berries I picked, or on the same trails that I walk while thinking about my work and finding inspiration.

A new friend here in PA invited me to come berry picking. Though I was knee deep in work to do in the studio, she successfully dragged me out one Wednesday evening...and I am so very happy she did. It was lovely to be outside picking berries and I brought my pots along with me during out second outing. I believe few words are needed for this blog. The pots speak for themselves...the relationship between them and their surroundings, the play between colors and surface, and the natural light really does beautiful things.

In few words...these images illustrate their creation. From my observation, to my hands, to the making in clay.
